S4/50 Course Details

Start on the A38 approximately 1.3 miles South West of Buckfastleigh at a point level with the penultimate sink in the acceleration lane opposite Dean Prior Parish Church (GR SX730634). Enter the A38 -care- in the Exeter bound direction to pass Buckfastleigh, Ashburton, Bickington, Heathfield & Chudleigh Knighton. At Chudleigh Bridge filter left, turn right, give way & right again to rejoin the A38 in the Plymouth direction. Retrace the outward route to filter left at the sign 'Lower Dean'. Turn right, give way, to pass under the A38, then right again, give way, on to the old A38. Continue passed Buckfastleigh to Dart Bridge where take second exit at the mini roundabout then take second left to rejoin the A38, Exeter bound direction. Retrace first circuit via Chudleigh Bridge and on the second lap remain on A38, passing Lower Dean slip to finish in the centre of lay-by at the emergency phone site, approx 500 metres before Dean Prior Church (GR SX 730640) and 50 metres before the ‘10’ finish point.
